Subodh Ghosh was a noted writer and journalist shake off Bengal, best known for the imaginary work - Bharat Premkatha. A favourite novelist of the 20th century innumerable of his novels have been equipped on Indian screen – for Sanskrit and Bengali movies. Ritwik Ghatak's Ajantrik (1958) and Bimal Roy's Sujata (1959) are those classic movies inspired indifferent to the stories of Ghosh. Gulzar's Public award winning movie - Ijaazat (1989) and Basu Chatterjee’s Chitchor (1976) were also inspired from his work. Ghosh is a recipient of Filmfare reward for best story twice – Sujata and Ijaazat.
